Labourer FAQs

Thinking of joining The Worksite Hub as a Labourer?
Here’s everything you need to know about getting verified, managing bookings, and getting paid.

1️⃣ Why should I sign up?

The Worksite Hub connects you directly with reputable contractors. You control when and where you work, build your profile, and progress through tiers as you gain experience.

You’ll need:

  • Proof of right to work in the UK

  • A valid UTR number (CIS registration preferred)

  • A CSCS card

  • A good attitude toward safety, teamwork, and reliability

Yes. Your personal data is stored securely and only shared with verified clients once your profile has been approved.

Yes — all labourers on The Worksite Hub work under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). When you’re registered, 20% tax is deducted from your pay and sent to HMRC.
If you’re not registered, the deduction rises to 30%, so it’s best to register early. We’ll guide you through the simple online process.

You’re paid directly by the client under the CIS scheme, based on your hourly tier rate:

  • Starter – £14.99/hr

  • Pro – £17.99/hr

  • Lead – £19.99/hr

The Worksite Hub only charges the client a daily booking fee for using the platform — your full hourly pay is paid to you by the client, usually weekly or as agreed on site.

Yes — we provide free CIS invoice templates and step-by-step guidance so you can submit your invoices correctly and on time.

Get your hours checked and approved daily by the site manager (either signed or confirmed by message). At the end of the week, submit a single weekly timesheet to the client’s accounts team — attach it to your CIS invoice and copy in the site manager for reference.

This ensures your hours are verified and your payment can be processed without delay.

If you’ve submitted your approved timesheet & invoice and haven’t received payment within agreed timescale, contact us. We’ll follow up with the client to help resolve it quickly.

Tiers are based on your experience, reliability, and verified skills. The more consistent and professional you are on site, the faster you progress and gain visibility for better-paid work.

As a self-employed worker under CIS, you’re responsible for your own insurance unless the client covers you under their site policy. We can recommend affordable insurance options if needed.

Always let the client or The Worksite Hub team know as soon as possible. Early communication helps maintain your reliability score and keeps your profile in good standing.

You’ll receive all relevant site details, induction requirements, and contact information once your booking is confirmed.

Yes. Site inductions are mandatory for safety and compliance, even for one-day bookings.

We can’t guarantee full-time work, but updating your availability and maintaining a good reputation will help you stay booked regularly.

Keep your Worksite Hub calendar accurate — mark booked or unavailable dates so clients can see when you’re free and book you instantly.

Yes, you’ll need your own standard PPE: helmet, hi-vis, boots, and gloves. Any specialist PPE required will be stated in the booking details.

We take this seriously. Report any discrimination, unsafe behaviour, or suspected modern slavery issues to us immediately. All reports are handled confidentially, and we’ll work to protect your rights.
